How to play Bedlam

DosBox .74 had trouble with default DosBox cycles=auto setting, freezing up, so use a front end or edit the dosbox.conf file to set the cpu cycles to a large value and tweak to the performance you need: [cpu] cycles=40000

Anyone know of a level guide/walkthrough? I'm stuck on one mission in the Industrial Zone (Zone 3 or C?). It's the mission with the nuclear silos and the hidden portal that leads to an enclosed area with a chaos powerup. One of the blue buttons for raising a platform does not appear to work. I've replayed multiple times and blown up the section with hades bombs to try to uncover hidden paths.

Running it on SteamDeck and DosBox pure via emudeck and emulation station. Cinematics off to get rid of missing file error. Only problem is no sound. Tried microsoft sound system, no luck. Tried soundblaster compatible but no menu shows up then. Anyone know how to fix audio?

@goutje

I don't know for sure, but try playing with the mouse polling rate.

My mouse is freezing in the menu and armory. Cannot do anything except press escape to go back to the main menu where the cursor will work again. Does anyone know how to fix it?

About the missing .smk file. Turn off "cinematics" in setup menu.

When using DOSBox to run this, do not leave the CPU cycles on Auto or it might get real slow or even freeze in the Armory screen. I set mine for 20k and it worked fine.

Is there a game manual for this anywhere?
