Description of Endorfun
Endorfun is a fun psychadelic puzzle game that plays like Tetris on acid.
Well, not really - but you get the idea :) The objective in the game is to maneuver a 3D cube (celled "Light Body") around a transparent grid ("Unified Field") to catch and absorb shifting target squares ("Life Forces"). When all Life Forces have been absorbed by your cube, you will win the level and proceed to the next one. Each level has a time limit, so you must be able to calculate long sequences of moves quickly and efficiently, lest you run out of time or become trapped by non-matching Life Forces.
The cool gameplay and unique premise alone already makes Endorfun one of the most entertaining puzzle games, but the designers went one step further to make sure you won't easily forget the experience. In addition to pretty, mesmerizing graphics, Endorfun is full of positive subliminal messages embedded in the exploding kaleidoscopic background and in the catchy world-beat soundtrack (thanks to The O Band). Paranoid gamers or skeptics who believe mind control theories will find Endorfun worrisome, but anyone who misses the '60s will find the game a welcome nostalgia - and a great puzzle game to boot. Who knows, your consciousness may indeed be - umm - 'augmented' when you do well enough in the game ;)
Highly recommended to puzzle fans everywhere, but anyone who is easily nauseated by swirling colors will have to skip this trippy, unique underdog.

Love this GAME! However I can't seem to get the psychedelic animations to function. If you didn't play this in the 90's then I suspect you don't know what I mean. The backgrounds and message screens have intense animations that are distracting and awe-inspiring. You likely see an error message on startup about 256 color mode, and that lets you know the backgrounds won't work. I've tried playing around with the compatibility settings in Win 10 to no avail. Still a great game, but without the backgrounds it's basically just 90's flavored cu-on-pa.

Thanks Larry for recommending this game. Can't wait to try it out and hear those "subliminal messages".

To begin with, I'd like to point out that the game also contains a native Win95 32bit executable (endorf95.exe), which basically means it can be run even under modern 64bit OS like Vista/7/8/10 directly. At least I managed to launch & play it with my Win7x64 based laptop and I used no third-party utilities to make it work aside from setting a Win95 compat.mode upon its exec.file. Although there's another unfortunate fact regarding its looks - since this game's 1 of those that use low color 8bit VGA palette (256 colors in total), once it goes fullscreen most its colors turn negative i.e. become inverted. Is there any way to work that glitch around - one might ask. Actually, there are at least a couple of solutions available: a) run the game in windowed mode, b) use some external utility like DXWnd or dgVoodoo2 that'll do the trick for you.
So what about the gameplay itself? It's top notch if you ask me! And yes - the farther you advance the tougher it gets, so be prepared to replay later levels over & over & over & over again since no one said it'd be easy in the 1st place, right? Sure thing!
