The first 3D-MMORPG and still around after 25 years due to a small but dedicated community! Its hardcore fighting system makes it so special - no button clicking and waiting for cooldowns, just swing your weapon and cast your magic spells until you run out of mana or HP. If you die, you will lose your whole inventory, some experience of your spells and skills, and an HP, too.
This game went open source, the Steam version is linked to the classic servers provided by the original developers (the Kirmse brothers). Registration and download is also possible without Steam on meridian59.com. There are enhanced servers (English and German) with updates on a regular basis available that are provided by the community. See meridiannext.com or meridian59.de for further info.
