Having played most of the scenario's (having bought em long ago together with a friend as kids) and now replayed them on free codes i was nearing the final ones (TiSL, WiSL and WoML) - when doing so i ran into a strange error ("ERROR Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address:0044987b") that i first tried solving by allowing Realmz to write to the C drive as i had read that was a problem (i also tried all the compatibility setting for vista). As i replicated the error in several different ways i ran into another error descritpion made by Realmz that encouraged me to contact Fantasoft (which you can't these days). That error seemed to point to DEP (Data Execution Prevention) by ID 1000 & 100, i had also found a few ppl having the first strange error that had led them to DEP. So i tried the different settings (inlcuding opt out and adding realmz to the opt out)

Where you can change out AlwaysOff - recall to load cmd (command console) as admin - any changes are made on your own risk, i take no accountability for possible errors when you error search.

No luck, so i tried moving the whole game from C to F - retrying the 3 (with 4 different combinations) of codes i had - no luck. Finally i went through some downloaded files where one contained the PC character editor (NOTE - THIS IS REAL, i have used it and it works) i found newer versions on WisL and WoML and removed the old ones - then tried again and realised my evil character could not play. I finally tried without it and entering the code now worked fully (not partially or bugged through).
So I've played through all previous scenarios with the same 6 characters (including Neconomicon - most of it without hints - by the route of clearing everything) so understandably i didn't want to "leave one character behind". I also realised in the package with the new versions there was a PC character editor (possibly malware, but nothing negative on scans) so simply loaded it out and moved it to the realmz folder and tested it out, it worked. I've now tweaked my char from demon to elf (probably not the right choice but since it was ages i went through the race vs professions that will have to do, also the name ended on el so with the new race i only added an f making the name -elf which help me remember this problem later on if needed.

TL:DR: If you get a strange error after writing in the code in WiSL - update it and get the PC Character Editor (it is available somewhere online - the dl is named "PC Stuff" - some pages are only available through waybackmachine) and tweak you evil character(s). Good luck!

These codes have been published on reddit by the person in question - i take no credit so all credit goes to the person in question (these contain War in the Sword Lands and Half Truth for PC);

I am missing the PC version of Wrath of the Mind Lords, and all 3rd party scenarios.

To anyone else getting the wing32.dll error when trying to launch Realmz.exe: run the provided Realmz Installer.exe, instead. I set this file to run in XP SP 3 compatibility mode; it might've helped. You'll be prompted to install. Choose a different directory from wherever you launched the installer from. Once the installer's done - and installed its own wing32.dll - you should be able to launch the game and follow Kathend's instructions for registering.

Holy crap, I totally thought this was "Realms 3.1" or some shit and have been searching for this for years, through piles of Dungeons and Dragons NES, MAC and WIN games. The little music jingle is still burned into my memory of playing this on my brothers Macintosh back in - I think - 2004? Making characters and hoarding their gems and remaking them was fun. I'ma try to get this to work. Yeah buddy, thanks to whoever uploaded this. It's like there was an error somewhere in my brain where I was like this game exists but I have no proof it ever did!

Doesn't work. Just gives an error when I try to start it from the .exe file.

loved this game years ago... many a dinnertime spent playing the levels over and over, deleting characters just so you can do it all again on the hardest settings... yes good game, the guy needed support for it i think

This is, without a doubt, my favourite game. I played hundreds of RPG but this one just hits differently. It has so much depth and so much content. As others said too, I play it every 2-3 years and it nevers ages. I keep wishing someone make a remake/remastered version of this game, it deserves it so much.

I, too, am 49 yrs old. I remember getting this game on 3.5" floppies and had to wait to get my activation codes and instructions via mail from the game creator. I wasted so much time playing it in college.
