Yep. I remember this. It had a DARK sense of humuor. My fave was when you exited the game, and it asked you if you were sure. Then they put you in the chair.

Yes, this is the shareware version, it should not be viewed as being commercially sold.

This and Tomb Raider were the first games to have dual-wield pistols, riding on the John Woo dual pistol action movie trend back then. It was incredibly satisfying to whip out dual pistols in this game to blow peoples faces off, just as it was satisfying to flip around as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider shooting people up with dual-pistols. Blood (a Build engine 3D game a la Duke Nukem) allowed dual-weild, but only after getting a power up to activate "akimbo mode" for a short while. The fast pace of this game made it an interesting shooter, but the levels got repetitious after a while, since it seemed to just be an enhanced Wolfenstein 3D engine that was still restrictied to boxy / cube rooms instead of something like Doom that could do more complicated map structures.

Oh my...
This was *THE* game. When this came out, I was enrolled in a typing class, and whenever you finished your assignment you could play this game. I never finished my assignment. But I could watch the folks around me! "The Hand of God" weapon was a favorite! I think I still remember a few of the cheat codes... I wonder if those still work? GOG.com, here I come! :D :D :D
