What exactly am I meant to do in this game? There's no documentation and the game's premise is only explained in the sequels, which, unlike this, were released commercially (this game was only released as a free bonus with the full version of RoboMaze 3).

Kinda interesting Berzerk-type game, but those tank controls are awful.

Odd controls: J and L rotate you left and right. Letter I starts your engines (you go in the direction you're facing) and K switches them off (you stop where you are). Return selects a weapon (indicated by an arrow in the status panel on the right), Space bar fires selected weapon.
I don't know if there are other controls that don't function until later.
It would seems sensible to remap the controls in DOSbox, and also slow down the cycles to around 1000 (hit CTRL-F10 about 10 times.)
There don't seem to be any instructions for the game, nor a tutorial mode. I've no idea what the plot or aim of the game is.
Might be a fun little game, but it could have tried a bit harder to grab the player. Also loses atmosphere due to having no sound, as far as I can tell. Not fair for me to rate the game in these circumstances.
