@EMOLEE you can still play this game on VirtualBox using windowsXP. Also @SAINTHAPPENING you can press the Shift button, and it will show the unit numbers.

I used to play this for hours and hours. I enjoyed the animations, etc. Wish I could get it again.

Don't bother with 1998 hasbro stratego for pc!
It was developed for win95. I loaded onto winxp machine which seemed to work ok. I doubt any of the problems below were caused by newer win version.
While playing you only see the rank numbers when there is a challenge - otherwise you can't even see the title, e.g seargent or number of your pieces between moves. You can only go by what the hat of the piece looks like.
Can't tell what's going on with graveyard view - cannot tell who's dead.
Rules are different, e.g. If you challenge an equal rank piece, you win [his goes, you stay].
Threes are miners but have a different title.
After you move, you have to click 10 second countdown button for computer to move or else wait till it times out.
CD has to stay mounted
