It works fairly well in DOSBox 0.74, but it hangs when I save the game.

A wonderful dungeon crawler, certainly among the best rpg's ever created.
If anyone has any trouble installing or playing the game, there is a pre-configured CD version for DosBox available on uesp.

Why are you all using JUST DOSbox? Use the far superior LaunchBox *(Which includes DOSbox and many more emulators) that does a lot of this behind the scenes work for you? I got the newest version *(4.6 as of this typing) and it works like a dream for me.

you have to mount the folder which consists the arena.bat to a drive in dosbox and then mount arena.cue present inside cd folder in dosbox to another drive. To mount arena.cue you would need this command "imgmount "Name of drive" "path to .cue file" -t iso.
img-file 2013-05-27 1 point DOS version
The img-file is the cd image. Mount it in a deamon tool, then mount the drive as d: in dosbox and start arena.bat.

What do you do with the IMG file inside the archive? I can't open it with my extractor that is supposed to open IMG files, and there are no game files inside the directory of ESArena.
