The Grandest Fleet
DOS - 1994
Description of The Grandest Fleet
As Lost Admiral II was never released, The Grandest Fleet should be considered the sequel to The Lost Admiral.
It is essentially The Lost Admiral dressed up in whiz-bang VGA graphics with many improvements in the AI. In true QQP fashion, the player's record is meticulously kept as he/she advances in rank, and the player's flagship in each scenario also become more powerful. Sadly the AI doesn't live up to the its predecessor's excellent AI, and at higher difficulty levels the AI's weakness is compensated by "cheating": it gets higher production capacity and resources.

I think that this style of a game not only gave real scenarios of battles of WWII but allowed for creative strategies for the players to think up on their own. Not as graphic a Call of Duty but, for the time, it was state of the art. Jane's Fleet is good but runs so slow it actually gets boring. War College is great and I would recommend it also. Roman battle, Napoleonic Battles, and Civil War battles with historic content in the game. But the best fun is The Grandest Fleet by far.
