So i installed this, game loads to create name etc, go to click 1st mission, i press select then it takes me right back to the start menu.. any ideas?

I can get the game running with windows 11 fairly easy. The game runs fine, with some minor audio issues. The main issue is all the ships are red, they all are rendered, but are colored red in error. I plan to come back and try other methods. Would like a clean playthrough one day.

In the patch fix is a .bat file. Run and start that instead of the game exe.
Any problems go to the game EXE and right click go to properties and compatibility to set things like play in Windows 95 or XP.
Then the .bat files when started connects to the EXE and takes info from it to start the game.

I downloaded the ISO and the patch for this game. However the game would not load. I have my original copy of the game but the first disc is scratch and does not work any more. I also still have the copy of the manual that came with the box. Sadly however I have lost the box in various moves over the years.

Downloaded ISO mounted it on virtual drive, downloaded patch/fix extracted and pasted it into install location and works fine for me, however getting the it to run in 8 bit (256 color) mode when launching from the batch file is my last issue for perfect quality however I'm already on the 4th mission.

Loved this game when it came out. Downloaded the ISO (1.2G) version several times - WinRAR says the file is corrupt, so couldn't extract it. :(

How do I install this game after mounting it in daemontools nothing wants to run the install

This was one of the best games I have ever played. It absolutely captures the genre of sea combat in the age of the fighting sail. The variety of nations, the variety of ships, and the variety of missions was fantastic. I so miss it, but it would not load on anything other than Win95 from the disks I purchased. I look forward to playing it again after all these years. I have looked for it for a very, very long time.
