Stephen Corcoran gave us this tip :

Ultima V can be played in a remake which use the Dungeon Siege engine, the project is called Ultima Lazarus. You will need Dungeon Siege (released in 2002, still available on Amazon) to play it. Check out the official Ultima Lazarus website to download this awesome remake.

Ultima 5 can be upgraded using the patch provided by The Exodus Project.

This may not have the "virtue" system but, items can be gotten from dead monsters. Best Loot is from Magicians and Dragons, if you get any Magic Axes use them they're the best weapons in the game. You can find one in a Town if you have some Magic Keys

This may be my favorite of the Ultima series. A fantastic game! If you play the Commodore version, take Ultimate Commodore's advice and use the C128 emulator... it's MUCH better. This is the version I played years ago on my old C128. If you're playing the PC version, be sure to download the music patch so you can experience the background music that was absent in the PC version.

Another great game in the series. Potentially the best, although most think that Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar is better. I like this one more, because it's twice the size and four times the adventure.

If you are running the Commodore version with WinVICE, use the C128 emulator for full enjoyment. You get more music, faster loading, and better dual drive support.
