Description of Wolf

PC Gamer said it all: "With Wolf, Sanctuary Woods [produced] a roleplaying simulation that detailed the everyday life of wolves in the wild. By challenging the player's skill in hunting, killing, mating, and survival...

Lion isn't quite the step beyond Wolf you might expect, but it does have its nice little touches... You can use the long grass to creep up on your prey; vultures circle overhead at the kill site; and your eyes glow a fierce amber in the darkness of the savanna night. This fresh approach to "edutainment" painlessly enlightened us, while entertaining as few games have done before."

Definitely the best animal simulations ever made that successfully combine fun, realism, and educational content. Highly recommended!

Hey Tarkahwild and Titaniumteeth, I don't know if this is the problem, but there are two download options for the game, so maybe one has sound effects, and the other doesn't ?

wolf game yas good

AH I AM SO CONFUSED 2022-06-03 0 point

Okay, is this a bug or something?, cause it scared the heck out of me- So I played it like usual, and then the music started being off, (I was playing on the browser) It would play the music and then it would play another song on top of it, the song that was on top of the other normal one would be a cover of it, and I started to think, "Huh, weird, never heard this before." But then I started to think that was not normal, I was walking alone with the alpha at this time and then another song, the song that either says that the sun is rising or going down started playing (Along with the scene) and had a piano cover on top of it. I instantly closed the tab and was very confused. Can someone explain this?

I like the mating part the best. I just keep playing with my leg hairs (that turn blonde in the sun) and sniffing little girls hair

*** READ IT FIRST, DO IT LATER. ***

Download the Wolf ISO file.
Download 7-zip and install it. (will use to extract the ISO file)
Download DOSBox and install it. (this will make the game to work)
Download WinCDEmu and install it. (this will emulate the ISO as a cd-rom)

Use 7-zip to extract the ISO file to a folder you like.

Now you get the WOLF.IMG file. Right click on this file and "Select driver letter & mount" (this is the WinCDEmu).

Magically you have now a new CD-ROM drive mounted (should be something similar to your local Hard Disk (C:))

OK.

Now, run the DOSBox.

READ what is WRITTEN if you have any issues.

Basically you have to MOUNT the CD-ROM as a drive unit on DOSBox.

Now you have a black screen with a Z: waiting for commands.

To make easy, type this: mount c c:\wolf

This will make a path to the system to use your c:\wolf as the installation directory.

If you struggle to mount the CD, type: intro cdrom

Here you will need to remember what is the drive letter you assigned to your virtual cd-rom (wincdemu)(one of the first steps).

Type this to mount the cd-rom: mount d X:\-t cdrom

Where you see the X:\ change for the driver letter you chose above.

GREAT! If everything is ok, then you can play. Just a few more steps to go.

SUPPOSING you entered the command above: mount d X:\ -t cdrom --- then your CD-ROM on DOSBox will be D:

Type: D:
Type: Dir

If everything is OK, then you will see some files: install, setup, wolf and a Wolf directory.

Type: install

The installation screen (blue) will be displayed, then:

Enter the CD-ROM drive (in this case D)
Now the installation directory (c:\wolf)
Now it asks for the F key to run faster.
Press enter to install.

Wait to finish.

Type: c:
Type: cd wolf
Type: wolf

Play the game.

I love this game! I wish I could find some way to recommend this game to SeriPixelBiologist on YouTube!(Since she's a gamer who only plays animal related games) I enjoy playing this game a lot since it's one of those educational games that are actually FUN and don't have "ducks/owls with college hats on" Or some downright annoying "girl narrator" just saying "HOW MANY DUCKS DOES GEORGE NEED IN THIS PROBLEM!?" It's a half-simple half-complex game that makes me smile at the sight of it. Plus I also like the follow-up to this game, Lion. (If you want to find the game then google "Lion 1995 game" because just typing "Lion game" brings in too many search results. :/ Anyway this is OwOTheFurry checking out! ????

how do play it though

Anonymous 2017-11-03 -3 points

To play this game, you must download a DOS program.

Most DOS programs need quite a bit of work to work on 64-bit computers, which are the majority nowadays
but vDosPlus works on both 32-bit and 64-bit.

Looks cool and, from what I've seen from YouTube of this game, it should be fun and work somewhat smoothly. I hope I enjoy it as much as I like watching other people play it and, if this does work, I thank you very much for allowing me to download it.

mata 2017-03-08 1 point

To those saying they can't play: You have to run it on DOSbox, which can be found here https://www.dosbox.com/

to run it, drag WOLF.exe onto dosbox.exe

Game is awesome as a wolf simulator. Takes a bit to load, and you have to know how to open DOS games. Otherwise, great! I really hope they are working on it, because there's so much they can add and do, like multiplayer.

I cant go any further.

i tried to download it onto my laptop and it failed. im currently trying on my PC. hope it works :/

Toast 2014-01-23 -3 points DOS version

What I'm wondering is why it keeps downloading as a .zip file and won't let me download it as anything else.

I checked out the following link: http://www.myabandonware.com/howto/

... and after downloading every single program listed and trying to install "Wolf" each time after it was finished, it hasn't changed a thing. .-.

Just fix it. You guys are seriously starting to piss me off off, since I've tried to download several games through this site and none of them work.
