I have installed this version before and it worked out fine, but after installing some mods the game kept crashing and I couldn't figure out which mods caused the problem so I uninstalled it. After that, I installed the game again with the same files and it worked out just fine! But for some reason the disc files in "My Pc" weren't going away so I ejected them manually. After that, the game never started again and now I can't even install it because every time I try to open the Disc files with the WinCDEmu, it does nothing. I tried over and over and it just does not open the files, but it doesn't show an error message or anything. The text box just disappears as if the file had opened.

Can anybody help? :(

To download:
1. Mount CD1, CD2, and CD3 with WinCDEmu (https://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/download/). You dont have to select a certain letter drive just click "OK"
2. Make a new folder in either the D: or C: drives (they're your personal drives you see upon opening file manager). Then go to the mounted CD1 to copy everything and paste it to the newly made zt2 folder
3. Don't get too excited! Pressing all game launchers don't work yet. You will have to go inside of the CD2 mount and go inside the "files" folder, copy the "x302.000.z2f" file and paste it to the "files" folder inside your newly made folder. Do the exact with the mounted CD3 (put it in the "files folder inside the newly made zt2 folder)
4. Your game is ready to be opened!

To download mods:

1. Download from either the zt2 roundtable or ZT2 download library wiki (fandom)
2. Put it in the "files" folder inside your zt2 folder where you pasted the cd1 mount

is there any way to add mods ? i tried making a copy of the original folder so that i have 2 folders , one for mods and one for the original games but i found out that the two files are linked to the same saves so if i add a mod to one of them the other will also be affected , i didnt find a solution to this rather than just putting the mods in the original folder , which also didnt work cause i keep getting there is not enough space in the folder even tho there is 100gb of space free on my pc

Is there some sort of file missing or something? I downloaded both folders as well as the WinCDEmu thing and nothing is working. I extracted the main ZT2 file, opened the CD1 folder like others have said, but when I right click the bin file and hit Open With WinCDEmu, it opens the WinCDEmu installer. I've installed it at least 4 times now but I can't tell if it's actually installing or not. If I go into programs x86 and open the WinCDEmu folder, I can't tell which file is the actual program. But every time I try to use the first ZT2 bin file, it brings me back to the Emu installer, tells me it's installed, and I'm stuck in this loop now for over an hour. What am I missing?

If you're having trouble getting the ISO burner to open the 2nd and 3rd discs, (For some reason Daemon Tools wouldn't let me do it directly) try double-clicking Disc 2 and Disc 3 straight from the folders they were extracted in to. Once I did this DT picked it up and the process continued, with game installing fine.
Just had the copy over the NOCD exe and I was in.

I'm trying to follow these instructions (mounting on WinCDEmu, doing the autorun, making sure it's extracted), but then I run into a problem.

I try the autorun of Disc 1, and instead of INSTALLING it (despite that clearly being listed as an option), it tries to UNINSTALL it, and it gives me an 1316 Error that says, "The specified account already exists." when it completes the uninstallation. This is a major problem, because I didn't have this problem the last time I did this. Also, replacing or renaming the zt.exe with the one from NOCD one is impossible because it says that I don't have any disc space to do so and deleting it isn't possible either.

I really don't want to resort to the Amazon download again, because that had a problem with crashing often (meaning that completing the African Adventure scenario and the Giant Panda scenarios crashed my computer).

Just use Power Iso, mount the Bin and click the autorun and install the game. switch the Bins out per CD. if you need the nocd its in the game extras below the comments... replace the exe after the install its really not that hard

I used PowerISO to install the game on my Windows 11 computer. The installation was a success, but after applying the no CD exe, the game doesn't launch. However, when I transferred the whole game directory to my older Windows 10 computer (no installation involved), it launches and surprisingly works. Is the game still compatible with Windows 11? I don't know if it is something to do with the temp files or the registry interfering with the launching process.

No, seriously. The .bin files cannot be read by either wincdemu or the built in iso reader on my computer, just tried. Unless some other paid app can help turn them into iso, just buy the game (and a cd rom drive for a very new pc that might not have one)

Can anyone explain how to start the game once you've got the zt.exe file from the NO-CD version? I'm not tech-savvy in the slightest and have tried deleting, reinstalling and making new shortcuts but it still shows up as missing a bunch of DLL files. Has anyone else gotten this issue and how do you fix it?

I haven't looked into it but it might be a technical problem with the eyes rendering properly. The affected animals might also be glitched in other ways which would be another sign that it's a bug for some creatures. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I did see someone comment about the same issue and that those files need to be copied from disk 2 and 3 to disk 1 map "files". Whenever i do that it says that i can not copy due to lack of space? very simple, when you go to download ZooTycoon there's a separate download link to the "noCD" file underneath as "game extras". I missed it the first time too, hence why you guys can't see it on your pc because you haven't downloaded it yet.

I got the discs installed thanks to ENJOY and TANKSHOW8's comments, but when I autorun nothing happens, and when I try to autorun again it says "Another instance of Startup.exe is already running", so the file is running, but the game doesn't startup. Help anyone?

A few problems.
I've successfully downloaded the game, no problem. I've started a game and was trying to complete the tutorial, but found I was not able to do Staff Mode. It says I am able to clean trash bins and sweep up trash if I press the spacebar, but nothing happens. Clicking on the bin/trash does nothing either.
I am not able to give names to exhibits. There's literally nothing I can click on to change it, it's blank.
NO GUESTS. None. The zoo is opened and I have animals. I even tried to set the price to "free", but it didn't entice anyone to show up.

Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Which I did, it is present and the access is the same as the other files... Can someone help me? :)

Hi I commented here saying I couldn't install. But now I can play the game. I was a bit of a dum dum back then lol.

I used winCDemu, mount all three disks first and then run the autorun (the icon doesn't appear in the toolbar for some reason, so I had to minimize every other window). Replace the ZT exe with the one in NOCD and done!

After mounting disk 1 using both wincdemu and daemon tools lite there is the splash screen and I select install. Then there is like a progress bar thing and it disappears and I can't figure out how to open it again, and I don't see it installed anywhere. I tried mounting disc 2 and 3 next but it just says a no associated app error. I can't open the autorun on disk 1 anymore.

What's going on here? Anyone knows? I'm not really tech savvy. Also if there is like a video instruction preferably, I understand instructions better that way.

I tried following the directions posted by ENJOY, but, Wincdemu wouldn't read it for some reason after trying to mount disc 1 multiple times. Could not get past first step. Would recommed daemon tools (lite) - It's a lot faster and easier.

I liked Zoo Tycoon (First Part) than Zoo Tycoon 2, although it was not 3D it was pretty fun and enjoyable game. But Zoo Tycoon didn't lock the campaign's objective once completed, it kept on switching. So i couldn't properly play that game. It always changed according to guest mood and animal mood, which made the game very hard.
It killed all the fun. Can anyone of us made a request to the developers to patch that up, like an update. If that was possible it would have been fun.

Molly, try running the zt.exe instead of startup.exe. If that doesn't work try uninstalling, clear your registry of any trace of the game (Be careful doing this, but like run CCleaner for instance) and then try re-installing by following the instructions in the comment below.

So to make this work down load powerSOI use to extract all the files then save to a random files name, extract disk 2 and 3 files save to another file, with the main extraction file click file you need add the extracted file folders from disk 2 and 3 into this file, the files should be numerical files for animation, you will need to go to main file click exe.set up load games then once down loading is completed add the crack cd extracted file to the zoo tycoon 2 folder it will replace the old one

There you´ll need to acces the folder "files" copy everything in it and insert it in the "files" folder of "zoo tycoon 2 ultimate collection disk 1"

I'm not tech savvy or anything, but I downloaded the game from here, unzipped it, then found a folder on my desktop named Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection. Went into that, ran the one that starts with a Z. Works! Has all the tutorials, and Marine stuff works! Awesome!
Running windows 10 on a newer MSI laptop, although my computer is the bottom of the list for gaming laptops.
