Description of Advantage Tennis
Advantage Tennis is a fun tennis game by Infogrames that is a cut above average tennis games on the market. The idea is simple: starting at the bottom of top 100 players chart, you must defeat higher-seeded players toward the goal of what else being the best tennis maestro in the world.
One of the game's highlight is the use of 3D-rendered graphics to portray the players as well as the tennis court. While this technique does not allow the same range of realistic movements as 4D Sports Tennis, the effect is still very good. The intelligent camera that moves during the match to track the action is a great idea, and adds a lot of atmosphere to the games, at times you will feel like watching a live broadcast of a tennis match. A full range of options including career tracking, practice match, and tournaments on various types of courts completes the package.
Overall, Advantage Tennis is a very fluid and enjoyable game. The controls take a while to get used to, but if you take the time, you'll end up having a great alternative to Tennis Cup 2. Highly recommended!

One of the first games in which vertical graphics were used successfully instead of pixel graphics.
So, that piece is a real milestone in the industry.

DosBox 0.74 - Win7 - 64bit - Runs Fine... sorta
First off, the description above makes it sound like learning the keypresses is vital (and difficult) to get anything from this game. So far? Me? No luck. More on that in a second.
I'd like to mention I've been programming computers literally 32 years and I'm always amazed when I see programs that DO THIS MUCH in such a tiny tiny package! You could probably put thousands of copies of this game on a half gig thumb drive with tons of room to spare!
Ok - enough programmer "WOW'd" commentary.
Game Play? Well - getting into a practice or tounement prompts you with a copyright code. I don't know if the game seemed to ignore me because I don't know the keypresses or because I don't have the copy protection codes. Some programs have been modified to ignore your copy protection answer and just play as if everything is fine. Game authors do this sometimes on retired games and sometimes frankly its hackers modifying current or old-n-dead applications. who knows...
In short I can't tell why the game just kinda didn't do much for me. Note it also seemed to lock up sometimes in the match. Now, I wouldn't ignore this game based on my own ramblings - I could be missing something like proper keypresses or it might be sorta messed up - I don't know for certain.
Going back to the big quality in a tiny tiny package - I think this game is worthy of "TRYING" to figure it out. Copy Protection Scheme messing it up or not, keypresses work or not, game lockup actually an issue or just something I ran into - freak thing.
Above the description sounds like someone had fun with it - so I'm gonna call this a keeper - that I need to mess with some more to get the hang of it.
