How to play Batnum Mainframe
Retrogamer Benedict contributed this very old game:
NAME: BATNUM (1967 EDITION)
DATE: Compiled on February 22nd, 1967 (According to the source code)Batnum is a "battle of numbers" against the computer. You take turns taking away 1-6 objects, presumably from a pile. As the game progresses, the total number of objects decreases by the amount taken by the player and the computer (Which in this case, is 1-6 objects taken per turn). In total, there are 79 objects to take away from this pile and whoever takes the last remaining objects loses.
This is the earlist known version of Batnum, which the sourcecode was mentioned and listed in a book (a page taken from the book showing the source code listing can be found in the image file titled "SRCCODE").
The game is dated to February 1967.
