i have tried for hours now to get this to work and i just can't do it. dosbox will NOT let me run SETUP so I'm just stuck because i can't get past this step. if someone can help that would be great but i don't think I'm smart enough for this

Ok, I got this to work with zero knowledge of DOSBOX and all that, here are the steps to follow:
- Download and install dosbox
- Download the ISO versions of disk 1 and disk 2 of connections
- You will need to install windows 3.1 on dosbox, follow the instructions here -
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=9405
- When following that guide to install windows 3.1, here are some pointers
- You can get all the windows 3.1 files fairly easily by searching for them, you will need all these files extracted to a single folder location in the step where they want the files in c:/doswin
- For the video driver get the first recommended one, S3 graphics card
- Get QuickTime (important you get it from the link in the guide, QuickTime player will be installed last, after you have windows 3.1 installed, by double clicking on the exe inside dosbox running windows3.1
- Once you have windows3.1 and all the drivers and QuickTime installed you are ready to install and play connections
- Copy the contents of connections cd1 to c:/connections/cd1
- Start dosbox and use - mount h c:\connections\cd1 -t cdrom
- Then - h:
- Then - setup
- Once connections is installed, start windows3.1 as usual (cd c:\windows - win) and you should be able to double click connections and play it
- If videos don't work in game, double check your QuickTime installation

finaly got the thing to work on dosbox, you need to download the iso file for cd1 and the run dosbox as usual but mount your cd like ...mount h e:\ -t cdrom..., after the lastline of the txt file named windows inside your windows3.1 folder, then when run dosbox is going to consider your cd as the game cd, i know is confuse but im exited to play sorry for the miss words.

I grew up with this game. I absolutely love it. but I'd like to not need a degree in com sci to get it up and running? I've managed to install windows 3.1 but now I need to get it to think the disk is in there, any ideas?

You can run this through a Windows 3.1 installation using DosBox. There are videos on youtube that tell you how to do it.

I bought this game for Mac, a long time ago! I still have the original box, CDs, manuals, etc. Now I'm trying to run on Windows 10, it's looking impossible so far. I hope I don't have to emulate my own Mac CDs. :(

How do I install the game on my Windows 10Pro PC?

gg 2021-06-04 0 point

correction apparently it did come to pc, guess it wasn't available where I lived sadly.

this was a fantastic documentary series, it also had a oddly paranormal and horror-like theme that always used to raise my hairs a bit. Sad this edutainment game only came to the mac, would have loved it on pc back in the day since I was stuck with awful eye witness cds that never thought me anything.

All my siblings love this game, we quote lines from it all the time. I was very glad to find this and got it running through SheepShaver so my wife could catch up on some of our silly inside jokes. ("not yet..!")
