Countdown
DOS - 1990
Description of Countdown
Similar to Access' early Tex Murphy adventures, Countdown has an incredible amount of "pixel-hunt" puzzles and several pointless "arcade" sequences. The plot of this game is quite interesting, though (although they might have borrowed it from Asylum, a Commodore 64 classic): you are an amnesiac trying to escape the asylum and find your true identity.
Overall, a fun game that's been overlooked by many people, despite frustrating puzzles, time limit, and some downright bad dialogues.

I played this game as kid, it was difficult and there was always one part in the asylum I never got past.
Is it time to load it up again, after all these years?

Nearly as bad as Harvester. Just like most of those 90s adventures from the U.S. with digitized graphics, it features massive amounts of pointless violence and a protagonist wearing typical casual U.S. attire from that time.
