This game might be old, but after the Silent Hill and the Resident Evil franchise games, this was the best indie psychological survival horror FPS game I ever played even nowadays its hard to find a game like this. Claustrophobic, psychological intense, immersive story and a strong "The Thing" movie vibe (not "The Thing" game, which doesn't compare with this game). In this game the worst enemy is not a monster following us, but ourselfs, our fears, our anxieties, our ghosts from the past, our madnesses and the intense artic cold.

GOG version from archive.org seems to run well for me, main issue is mouse acceleration is really high if you try to run in widescreen resolutions, running in 1600x1200 seems to fix it. I also tried iso Russian release with no-cd patch and that runs well too (also available on archive.org)

Unfortunately the downloads to both are dead, but since both appear to just be config file tweaks if anyone with the knowledge of what to tweak can you post in the comments how you can do something similar by hand?

Note gog version if you can hunt it down runs much better and with few crashes. Otherwise game was impresive .

I paid full-price for this a few years back on Steam... and within a few months, it was gone from their store (but still in my account, thankfully). It's an excellent game, if you're not a "run-and-gun" sort of player. But it seems not to have caught on (likely for exactly that reason). Since (stupidly) it can't be bought anymore, and it runs perfectly o modern hardware (it was "challenging" on the hardware I had at the time!), I can't recommend it highly enough.
