How to play Disney's Extremely Goofy Skateboarding Windows
Install & play guide for disc version only (using repack is faster and easier, it includes all necessary files) :
- Mount the disc image - you will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 102% or Daemon Tools Lite, etc. If you're using 32-bit system use ISO of original disc (inside "For 32-bit" folder), if you're using 64-bit system - use fixed ISO with updated installer that compatible with 64-bit systems (inside "For 64-bit" folder). Although 32-bit installer should work in 64-bit systems too
- Install the game
- Also it is recommended to install DirectX from the disc (inside the disc image in "Setup" - "DirectX" folder)
- Install NoCD, for unknown reasons the game doesn't see mounted disc image and shows error "Wrong disc inserted"
- After that - install dgVoodoo (just copy-paste files to the folder of the game and configure setting with dgVoodoo app, then launch the game). Ready-to-use dgVoodoo config is in Download section, with selected 1360x768 resolution, enabled VSync and 2x Anti-aliasing (AA) + 2x Anisotropic filtering (AF). You can select your own settings, read here how to configure dgVoodoo (choose DirectX tab)
- As alternative - you can try to run the game through DXWnd, read this thread for details, there's ready config
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't run - open the directory with the game and find skating.exe. Right click on skating.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 2000 or Windows XP" (try different compatibility modes, the game has troubles with launch on 64-bit systems).
- Also try to launch the game, then open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del by default) and check for processes skating.exe and rundll32.exe. Close skating.exe but don't touch rundll32.exe (it's a Windows app for running old apps from 32-bit operational systems, most old games running through rundll32.exe). Now try to launch the game again, it must work. Don't forget to close rundll32.exe process in Task Manager after finishing playing
- The game with dgVoodoo has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit, works fine
Troubleshooting:
- Sometimes the game can freeze. In that case just close the game process through Task Manager.

As a kid, I remember this game being a blast. It really felt like I was exploring the world at my leisure. I also remember grinding and doing tricks around the parks.
As an adult tho, I can't really recommend it. The worlds are interesting enough but the controls, grinding system and trick system are extremly basic, stiff and uninteresting.
This is for me, one of those games that have has not passed the test of time very well.

Playing this game off of my old disc and feel like I'm missing something on saving progress. if I complete a stage and unlock the next one, I lose that unlock after leaving the save file and going back to main menu. I don't see any particular way to save it. What am I doing wrong?

Click on the Spanish one, don't worry. It doesn't change the language nor does it need to be in that language. After that, set the compatibility mode to Windows XP.
