Flight of the Amazon Queen
DOS - 1995
Also released on: Amiga
Description of Flight of the Amazon Queen
This charming game from a not-so-well-known Australian developer puts you in the shoes of Joe King, freelance pilot hired to escort actress Faye Russell to a photo shoot deep in the Amazon jungle.
The game is not up to par with LucasArts games (which are obvious inspiration here), but it still offers plenty of solid puzzles and a gentle off-beat humor that will elicit a laugh or two and leave a smile on your face at the end. The CD-ROM version also offers surprisingly good voice acting - a rare treat in adventure games.
Note: In 2004, copyright holders have released the game as freeware - both the full CD-ROM talkie version and floppy disk version! You can download the game from ScummVM interpreter page and play the disk images using this wonderful interpreter! Big thanks to ScummVM team and Interactive Binary Illusions :)

this game was one of the last "real" adventures, we used to. with its graphics, humor, puzzles etc... after 1995, games had begun to "change "dramatically; and we had begun to lost adventure genre.

Cool game and for a change the puzzles are not as cryptic (some are hard and weird though), checkout ScummVM for the cd version (voices instead of reading) unless it gets put on this site. Game runs without any flaws in ScummVM emulator and also runs fine in DOSBox.

Lots of humour. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed Monkey Island.
Intersting main character name. Joe King (as opposed to "JOKING")! I must say its sounds more funny then Guybrush Threepwood...

A really good game, with excellent graphisms.
I really liked the humourous situations.
But be warned that the game is sometimes hard (the difficulty is not well balanced). Some of the puzzles don't make any sense and you'll have to resort to the good old brute-force method: try every object on every thing in every place to solve several of them. Or use a walkthrough...

A Monkey Island wannabe and has the same humor but actually I liked miles better!!! Its also failry easy and I completed half game without a walkthrough or guide but in the end it gets really difficult. And the final puzzle is simply annoying. One can't possibly solve it without an image!
A must to download if you like Point & Click adventure games.
