Excellent adventure game from Sierra. The game that was way ahead of its time with a non-linear concept and almost sand-box approach to deal with things. Love it!

I think it would be totally awesome since this game was so popular back in the day if they made a Windows version of this and kept it original because I would guaranteed buy it in a heartbeat!!
Anyway you can get this message to the Developers?

This was so fun, but now I have a huge problem! The end sequence after I win the game kind of freezes. I don't see any scene nor do I get the option to export my character. I made a great character and I just downloaded Trial by Fire and want to use that character there. Can anyone help?!?!? Please tell me I didn't lose this! Would I have to have downloaded from GOG for the character to be importable? Help would be so appreciated! katyotto@gmail.com

My mind was absolutely blown when I first saw this game. It's one of the best ever, hands down. Nothing compares. It totally paved the way for today's adventure/RPG hybrids. Required for all gaming afficionados!

I played the hell out of this game for years and the most amazing part was being able to import your characters throughout the series. Yes you can start as a magic user and gimp to have all skills which makes the game a lot more fun! TRI-CLASS BABY! Import to the 2nd game will glitch and allow you to start as a paladin! Get the whole series!

I played this game many, many times. The repeat playthrough is, for some reason, fun every time.
The music, lore, and humor sticks with you. My love of cultural-references, puns, and mythology stem in large part from this game and its sequels.
In the off-chance that the creators of this game ever read this, thank you. Your creation has given me a lot of joy over the years. Thank you.

Don't play qfg5. It's maldeveloped. Try the origional article first, if you have any interest in typing, and entering your own actions. The VGA features, and point and click and menus are a fine developement, but if you want an origional experience, the text entry is the way to go.

if i remember correctly u can choose magic user and spend ur points on thief skills. u start off gimp in both things that way but u can train it all in-world...

A wonderful game!!!
It combined the then-classic graphic adventure genre of Sierra (King's Quest) with a character-developement system of pen-and-paper RPGs. This in itself was WAY beyond time.
But Lori-Ann and Corey Cole, the designers (look out for their "School for Heroes" on the Internet and the Shannara computer game by them) put it into a well-formed background with consistent magic and lore system, spiced it with creatures of mystery and wonder and many, MANY in-joke, puns, and other humourous references.
It is quite a different game as magic user, thief or warrior, more so than the other games of the series - which was planned to have four installments for each classic element (V, Dragon Fire, is not yet abandonware; III, Wages of War, was put in the middle and doesn't deal with a specific element).
Frankly, I like the EGA version better than the VGA version; but as all the other games beginning with III are VGA games, you might want to play it in the VGA version. A VGA version of QFG2, Trial by Fire, was made under license by AGD Interactive and is freeware.
