The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, it works fine. The game supports widescreen. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Notes for details

Notes:

• It is recommended to install the game not in default path, but in some other, non-system folder, like C:/Games/Rugby Challenge 2, so you won't have troubles with NoDVD
• If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Setup.exe as Administrator and in Compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP)
• It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
• The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
• If the game doesn't start - try to launch it in Compatibility mode with old version of Windows (like Windows XP or Windows 7) and as Administrator. To do that right click on exe-file or desktop shortcut -> Properties -> Compatibility
• The game is using Steam DRM, use NoDVD to "break" the DRM protection and play the game. If you see the error that there's not enough space on the hard drive when you copy NoDVD files - re-install the game in non-system folder, like D:/Games/Rugby Challenge 2, Windows Protection may block copying of files to system folders (like C:/Program Files or C:/Windows)
• If the game doesn't work or have endless loading - block the game's executable in Firewall, forbid the access to the Internet
• If you want to change the game settings - launch Settings Editor, go to Rugby Challenge 2/tools folder and run RugbyChallenge2SettingsEditor.exe
• The game is multilingual, it has English, French, Italian & Spanish languages. You can change the language of installed game in Setting Editor (RugbyChallenge2SettingsEditor.exe)
• There's some secrets that can be unlocked in game: create a player with the name of 'Mike Flatt' to unlock Team Lomu; create a player with the name of 'Sid Hee' to unlock Sidhe; watch the credits till the end to unlock an extra secret
• The game has Online Mode and Local Play mode for multiplayer matches. We don't know if Online Mode still works since the game was removed from all digital stores almost 10 years ago. But you can try to play the game online with Local Play emulators like Remote Play Together or similar tools
• The game has controller support, it has full support of XInput and should work fine with any XInput-type gamepad (X360 gamepad or similar). The game should work with other types of gamepads too, if the game doesn't recognize your gamepad - try to use one of the additional tools from PCGamingWiki guide for controllers
