Description of Oil's Well
A fun little clone of classic Digger, Oil's Well is fast, fun, but somehow missing the longevity that makes Digger a classic.
As MobyGames describes it, the objective is to: "...extend your oil-mining robotic arm deep below the earth's crust to mine oil and line your pockets. But watch out for the monstrous bugs that lie in wait for you -- one touch of them to the robotic arm and you lose a life!"
Simple concept, but quite frustrating in reality as those bugs are way too fast at higher levels. The 1990 remake version is much better. Good for nostalgia, but little else.

I remember this game from 25 + years ago but didn't know the name. Thankfully I just happened to find it watching a commodore 64 best games video on youtube.

This is a really silly little game - and I loved it at the time it came out. Hope I still will when I play it again. It is kind of like Pac Man in that you eat the dots and anything in front of your "drill head." However as you go, you leave behind a line (pipe?) and if any of the monsters cross your line you lose a life. However you can (at least on the original C=64 game) push a button and you back up about 10x faster then you move forward. Like Pac Man, you have to clear the screen to move on to the next. I don't see a lot of people loving this game but I really did like it back in the day, along with Jump Man and Jump Man Junior. But I didn't have much to compare it to. I've no doubt that someone was mesmerized by Pong in its time.
