Perfect General II
DOS - 1994
Description of Perfect General II
The Perfect General 1 rocketed QQP to fame when it was released in 1990.
The game offers a complete player history, an elaborate scoring system, and good AI. The Perfect General 2 ups the ante with VGA graphics, modem play, excellent phased action, and better AI. Arguably the best game QQP ever produced, PG2 sadly didn't garner much acclaim, perhaps due to the release of SSI's ground-breaking Panzer General in the same year (1994). Two abstract wargames at its best!

Is there a way in the scenario editor to start the game defaulting to the DEFENDER instead of the choice of being an ATTACKER or DEFENDER? I have created scenarios that offset the AI and it would be great if you didn't have to choose the DEFENDER because if you forget to change the default, the game is heavily weighted against you.

I am having trouble launching Perfect General 2. I had this working about a year ago but had to repair my computer. So I am starting over and cannot get it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I still do not see any map editor. There is an updated version, but I can not figure out how to load it as it asks for the location of the game, and a path name which I do not know how to do with DosBox or Boxer. I can get the file name, but the full path name eludes me. (File:\name). I do not see this in Boxer or in DosBox. However, this is for the update, and that may be where the editor resides which is why I don't see it. The original game still works fine, and though it could use some tweeking here and there, I enjoy many of the scenarios. I wish there were more out there, or I could get the editor to work so I could make my own.
Maybe someone out there can help me figure this out.
Note: I don't know what MUHAMMAND is talking about. I have tried the Abandonia version and it is exactly the same as the version here. Both say they require a CD, but you can get around that. Both require the full path name, the part in both versions that is alluding me.
