Rebel Moon Revolution was supposed to be a continuation of games Rebel Moon and Rebel Moon Rising. But if the first 2 games were simple shooters on a 2.5D engine, the new game was supposed to be a tactical shooter with squad management, in full 3D, on the new REV Engine developed by studio. But the game development got into "production hell" and the game was eventually cancelled. The REV Engine technology was later used for the game The War in Heaven.

In 2012, a demo version of Rebel Moon Revolution from December 1998 was uploaded to the Internet, with several playable levels and a large number of unfinished levels, models, textures, etc. For several years, a user WERTA has been sorting through the demo materials and putting together a playable build of the game on the REV Engine in the version from The War in Heaven game. In 2016, the build was finally released, then build got few fixes and patches, and in 2019 the final version of the build was released. We post WERTA's builds with his approval.
