Description of Romance of the Three Kingdoms II
The sequel to KOEI's excellent Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a somewhat inferior game. As opposed to a balanced gameplay of the first game which requires you to use both strategic and tactical prowess to win, RtK 2 makes winning much easier with brute force. Once you have a sizeable number of troops and good generals, you basically win the game.
Despite the lack of strategic depth and tactics and a seemingly dumber computer AI, RtK 2 is still an immensely enjoyable game that might appeal to anyone looking for an easy game of conquest, but will disappoint veteran RtK commanders looking for a tougher challenge.

I have my own original version, installed DosBox and I can play it even in Win 11. Awesome game from KOEI. My record was unify China in almost 1 year, without using hex or any other cheat. Forgot already how I did it in the past. Yea, over 20 years ago. Is still one of my best and favorite game.

For those of you wondering how to play the game in color (DOS version), when you use DOSBox, run the KOEI BAT file rather than the MAIN EXE or the other EXE files. Hope that helps!
I'm a total noob, so if you are unsure how to use DOSBox, I followed this easy guide https://www.instructables.com/How-to-use-DOSBox-for-Beginners/
But like I said before, when you get to the part where you run the EXE file, instead, type KOEI BAT and that should work. ENJOY! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS GAME, IT BROUGHT BACK A TON OF MEMORIES!

Bought this game 28 years ago. Spent countless hours playing it. Not too complex compare to later versions. With a HEX editor you can improve your generals' abilities and unlimited troops.

I have downloaded boxer and tried to play the game on my iMAC. Unfortunately I couldn't properly put down the generals during war. Can only put one down but not the rest. Does anyone know how to fix it?
