Unreal II: eXpanded MultiPlayer was a multiplayer expansion for Unreal II, because the original release of Unreal II had only the singleplayer campaign. You can read more about that expansion on Unreal Wiki. Both the Unreal II and eXpanded MultiPlayer addon are included in Unreal II: The Awakening - Special Edition

Digital download version requires CD 2 (Play Disc) of Unreal II for installation, but the installer may not recognize the disc image of CD 2 in virtual drive. In that case use fixed exe-file, simply put it into the same folder as installer and run to remove the disc check. The installer of CD version (Disc Image) doesn't require CD 2 for installation
This expansion was unofficially ported to Unreal Tournament 2004 as Unreal Tournament: Expanded Multiplayer (UTXMP). It features the content ported from original XMP and some original content
