Asterix and the Magic Carpet
DOS - 1987
Also available on: Amiga - Amstrad CPC - Atari ST - Commodore 64
Description of Asterix and the Magic Carpet
An interactive comic with some little action sequences based on the popular comic book Asterix chez Rahazade.
The Schneider CPC version of Asterix was one of the first computer games I ever played, and I remember being blown away by the beautiful graphics back then. In comparison, the PC version looks quite awful with its CGA graphics, but it was nice to see the game again. Might require a slow-down util as the action sequences run too fast on modern computers.

why did they bother implementing
a measly 4 colors into the graphics card
called cga ?
would it not have been better to make
these 4 greyshades ?
any game on cga looks.. different

There's an error, the English Atari ST is actually in French, maybe there's a way to switch to english? But it isn't obvious.

Great Find, i dig through my files and found the
true EGA Version in German
and the
true EGA Version in French
including Manuals in those languages
i will send all to the admin
(There is a carte.inf file, if you delete it you can choose which Graphic Version you want, sadly the language seems hardcoded but i will look into this further)
cheers

Bought this version in VGA and was in Spanish, was ablazed with the game, but the version I had was impossible to complete. As soon as I arrived to India, they tried to take off the tongue of the bard. I still have the disk, as I was too frustrated to let this game go, but it also has key-disk protection, so it only runs in the original floppy. :-/
