I have a strange issue with this game. Installed it earlier this year, it was maybe springtime, like April or May. It worked fine then. I even did some adjustments to NVIDIA graphic settings to get rid of some graphic glitches and it ran without any problems at all. Now yesterday I wanted to play it, but what do you know. It won't start. It just shows a black screen at the start. I have tried everything I can ever think of:

Removed the custom settings from NVIDIA control panel -- no effect.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the game -- no effect.
Tried to install different patches to it (1.01 and 1.1) -- no effect.
Tried to use older display drivers (the ones from april or may) -- no effect.
Tried to remove Windows NET.Framework updates to see if they cause this -- no effect.
Tried to tinker with compatibility modes -- no effect.

The game just stubbornly gives a black screen and I have to kill it with a task manager. This is really strange, because it worked without problems earlier and now it just won't run. I haven't changed anything other than display drivers and windows updates. And even reverting those didn't help at all. Any ideas?
