I guess I did find the solution - apparently a later version of the game was floating around the internet that does work on modern systems (with help of DgVoodoo). So yeah, submitted it and it seems to be fine now!

I do not have a fix for the lagging, but if you're nostalgic for this game, check out Brave Dwarves Back for Treasures, it plays pretty much the same, just with different graphics.

This game is lagging hard on Windows 10 and 11, have to hold a button so the fps are normal, otherwise its as good as frozen.
