Chess Challenger
ColecoVision - 1983
Description of Chess Challenger
This game was originally worked on in 1983 by Fidelity Electronics (electronic chess board manufacturer - http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/fidelity.html) for Coleco. They made a few demo (prototype) cartridges but the game was never fully completed & was cancelled. This version was completed by Collectorvision (http://www.collectorvision.com/old/game-chess.htm), they basically took one of the rare demo cartridges and completed the game (maybe they upgraded the graphics, but that's about it).
The game is fine but is lacking an opening book for the computer, and there are only 3 levels but there were supposed to be 9-10 levels of difficulty. The programming was done by Dan & Kathe Spracklen (who did the SARGON chess series).
