How to play Clive Barker's Jericho Windows

The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, it works fine. The game supports widescreen and ultra-high resolutions up to 4K. You may experience some small troubles when you play the game on modern systems, check our Guide and Notes for details

Before installation - if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - make sure that you enabled DirectPlay if you didn't make it before, read this or this guide how to do it (if you're using Windows 7 or older - just install DirectX from the disc)

Install & play guide:

  • Before installing the game - download and install Nvidia PhysX Legacy Drivers, even if you have AMD videocard. The game uses PhysX engine and will not work without installed PhysX
  • Mount the ISO image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools Lite
  • Install the game (if autorun doesn't work - simply launch the installation from Setup.exe inside the disc). It is recommended to install the game not in default path, but in some other, non-system folder, like C:/Games/Clive Barker's Jericho, so you won't have troubles with fixes or mods
  • After you installed the game - use NoDVD, simply copy Jericho.exe from the archive and put it into Clive Barker's Jericho/bin directory, agree to replace original file
  • Open the directory with the game and find Jericho.exe. Right click on Jericho.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 7" and "Run as administrator"
  • Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows 7 - try to launch it in compatibility mode with other version of Windows (Windows XP SP2 or SP3, Vista, etc.)

Notes:

  • If the installation doesn't start - try to launch Setup.exe in compatibility mode with old version of Windows (98, 2000 or XP) and as administrator
  • It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and NET Framework for the correct work of the game. Also it is recommended to install K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of in-game videos
  • The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
  • There is a rare bug when the installation of the game is not "completed" because the installation process remain on-going, even after the game is installed. In that case just close the process in Task Manager, and run the game through Jericho.exe. And when you'll want to delete the game, use un-installer tool like Revo Uninstaller
  • For Windows 10 & 11 users: if Setup doesn't start or you see the message "This App has been blocked for your safety", do the next: run the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) with administrator privileges (enter cmd in the Windows search field, right click and run as admin), navigate to the disk drive (e.g. if the game disc is in drive D:, enter d: and press Enter) and run setup.exe from there (type setup.exe and press Enter). Check this guide for more details
  • Same problem may happen when you try to delete the game, so do the similar steps - run Command Prompt with administrator privileges, insert %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\InstallShield Installation Information\{BE9A67F1-BDD3-4259-9F5C-2EFCE6B3A6C5}\setup.exe and press Enter. Or use special un-installer tool like Revo Uninstaller
  • If you are having problems with the game not launching or loading endlessly - make sure that you installed PhysX Legacy drivers. It is recommended to install PhysX Legacy Drivers 9.13.0604, it seems the game works the best on this version of PhysX drivers. If you have any other version of PhysX drivers and the game crashes - delete that drivers and install PhysX Legacy Drivers 9.13.0604, it should help
  • If you're installing repack from R.G. Mechanics - the installer of that repack creates second "bin" folder inside main "bin" directory (i.e. Clive Barker's Jericho/bin/bin/) and puts executable file in the second folder, so desktop shortcut doesn't work. Simply transfer Jericho.exe from second "bin" folder to main "bin" folder, and everything will work
  • If the game crashes on starts with error "NxCooking.dll is missing" - download that .dll from this page and put it in same directory as Jericho.exe
  • The game has no framerate limit, and there might be stuttering of the game on high refresh rate monitors if FPS exceeds the monitor's refresh rate. Refresh rate can be capped by enabling Vsync in game or in video card panel; or you can cap the game's framerate through the video card panel or with one of the apps that allows to limit the framerate
  • The game has some hidden graphics options that can be enabled by editing the config-files, check this guide. Also, you can increase Anisotropic Filtering (AF) level in same config-file, or make the game run in Windowed mode, check this guide
  • You can change the mouse sensitivity by editing the config-files, also you can change the mouse keys bindings, if you doesn't like the standard bindings (by default the primary fire is on RMB and secondary fire is on LMB), read this guide how to do it
  • If you want to install Czech translation patch - first install the game, then run the installer for Czech translation patch and show the path to game folder. That patch includes files from official Czech release, it has Czech menu/subtitles plus Czech hardsub for in-game videos, check this page for details. If you have Clive Barker's Jericho game on Steam, you can also install Czech translation on Steam version, here's the installer for Steam version
  • The game supports widescreen and ultra-high resolutions up to 4K. Read this guide to if you want to play with ultra-high/ultra-widescreen resolution
  • If you want to change Field of View (FOV) in game or change someother features - use SMOD, it is a package of modding tools/resources allowing for overhauling the game and fixing most glaring issues, including but not limited to: fixing mouse issues, FOV override, head bobbing toggle, enabling debug functions, improving balance and much more. For more details check the page of mod on NexusMods
  • The game has full controller support through XInput. If the game doesn't recognize your controller - try to use one of XInput wrappers
  • Don't forget to check PCGamingWiki if you have troubles, it's very useful!

How do I find Jericho.exe in the second bin file? All I see is a bunch of wing dings looking characters. Game keeps crashing after second cut scene. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Download Original ISO - Mount image- run CMD as administrator and enter the location of the setup.exe from the mounted ISO to bypass the security block and install game - install NoDVD - Install physx legacy driver - Enjoy

The game is working perfectly. I had to do it like this:
1. R.G. Mechanics version
1. Install it with the DirectX and PhysX box unchecked
2. Install PhysX separatelly

Awesome Man!! Works great on my Asus Rog Ally! Downloaded the repack and Physx and works like a charm. Thank you so much! This game is awesome and definitely brings back memories. Playing right now and most likely all day! Thanks Again!!

The game file "Repack by R.G.Mechanics" worked flawlessly for my old Windows 10 PC.

Simple shooters are not my usual. I was only interested in the "Clive Barker" part.
A single play-through is plenty for me, not worth spending too much time on.
Some day I'll try "Clive Barker's Undying". I believe I will like the latter better.
Otherwise enjoy!

I downloaded the Repack by R.G.Mechanics version and I had to install the physx installer inside the iso, the other linked version didn't work for me

Make a remake without QTE's and i'm all over it. Tried every setting for the QTE but it automatically set it to 1 anyway. Can't be bothered to play through it with QTE's since I like living and going through brutally hard QTE's will give me a heart attack. Maybe a good game but like I said: It needs a remake.

Hola chicos!

Just install the ElAmigos Repack, works the best at least for me and install this mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/clivebarkersjericho/mods/2

@DUDESMAN

ISO version is okay, I checked all executable files on VirusTotal, it showed 0 warnings. Also I installed and checked all versions, they should work. Try to launch Setup in compatibility mode with Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7. Or try other versions (repacks or Full-Rip), they work with no problem

dudesman 2022-04-28 0 point

I would avoid the iso version as it seems to not play nice my computer keeps blocking the setup

admin 2022-04-26 1 point

We have updated the game, added 2 repacks with different languages and ISO version of original DVD. All versions are DRM-free

SumoEssence 2022-04-10 0 point

I actually got this on steam way back before they axed it from the store. Glad it found it's way here since quite a lot of people still want to play it. Underrated for sure. Even the voice acting is good.

Peidei 2022-03-26 0 point

Criminally underrated game. Yes, it's no F.E.A.R. in therms of quality, but the story, the characters and mechanics are very interesting

WAHID87 2022-03-20 0 point

thank you so much

Trusteft 2022-03-19 2 points

Above average fps. Mythical/fantasy opponents, ability to switch characters, good game.
Negative parts being the narrow maps.
Also IIRC when it was released it had some crap DRM. I still have the original disc somewhere though I haven't played the game in many years.
Worth playing.
