How to play Clue Chronicles: Fatal Illusion Windows
Install & play guide:
- Mount the .ISO disc image of Disc 1. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 102% or Daemon Tools Lite
- If you're using Windows 10, use updated Disc 1 with new installer that is compatible with 64-bit systems
- Install the game
- Also it is recommended to install DirectX 6 from the disc
- Install the patch
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't run - open the directory with the game and find Fatal_Illusion.exe. Right click on Fatal_Illusion.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows XP or Windows 2000" and "Run as administrator"
- During the game, at some point you will see the message "Please insert Disc 2" and "Please insert Disc 3" - when you see it, mount the .ISO disc images of Disc 2 and Disc 3 into the same virtual drive as Disc 1 (First right click on the mounted drive and select "Eject", then mount the .ISO of the following drives)
Modern Systems Installer installs automatically, it includes the patch.
The game with patch has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, works with no problem

Used the modern installer and everything appears to be correctly installed however I lose mouse and keyboard controls in game. I can't figure out a fix for it.

When I try to open the preferences the crashes instantly. I really need to decrease the music volume but I can't.

We updated the game, added the installation instructions and updated version of Disc 1.
Easiest way to play the game on modern systems - download Modern Systems Installer, it is the pack with custom installer all-in-one, it includes the full content of all 3 game discs and patch

I thought I'd never see this again. I used to own the physical discs as a child. An excellent puzzle/adventure game that sadly never took off into the franchise it wanted to be. There were supposed to be two more sequels but they never came. A must play for those looking for adventure and puzzle and/or a fan of Clue.
