Description of Conan: The Cimmerian

The fourth game by Synergistic traces the adventures of well-known comic book hero Conan from his humble beginnings as a blacksmith. The World Builder engine, which has remained more or less the same for the previous 3 games, got a facelift in this game: the interface is more transparent, and the game world is now 3-D and much larger.

Strategic elements, however, disappeared in favor of more adventure and RPG elements (e.g. more items and conversation choices). The result is a strong RPG that is not as genre-busting as its predecessors due to its heavy emphasis on combat sequences.

For anyone else having trouble getting the voice and sound effects to work with the Enhanced Version - my advice is to give up trying to figure it out with Dosbox if you're a noob.

Rather use the install wizard in DOSBox Game Launcher. Mount the CD with a virtual drive, then point DOSBox Game Launcher wizard to the setup files.

I am trying to play this on Boxer on Mac. I cannot get the CD audio to work. When I'm installing it, the only choices that are presented are Adlib and Roland. There is no option for Soundblaster.

Did anyone get the CD version running on Boxer successfully? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

As one may imagine, Conan draws much blood and lays many beautiful women in this game.
