This is made by Acid Software, so appears to be an almost unknown sequel to the revered Amiga 1200 game 'Guardian', which is pretty much defender in 3D

I recently discovered this game after a long time, being unable to understand the controls.

It's lightweight and runs on Windows, but not sure if Nvidia drivers work on W10. A challenging game, in part to difficult controls, movement, and timing but still entertaining. The minimap is especially helpful, and the area loops around if you travel far enough one way. In later levels, using bombs are key. I'd also recommend trying to shoot the green aliens last. Like an arcade game, with no ending, only looping back again.

The pattern goes: Yabel 1, Yabel 2, Taloth 1, Taloth 2, Challenge I, Murgh 1, Murgh 2, Shadir 1, Shadir 2, Challenge 2, Bantos 1, Bantos 2, Tryton 1, Tryton 2, Challenge 3.
Then about 5 levels on random planets, and then Final Challenge before looping over again to Yabel, increasing in difficulty.
