I am trying to get this to work but it isn't. I'm using dosbox and am able to extract the files but when I try to run the exe it gives me a "win" error. Is there a different way I should mount this?

Downloaded this game, as it was one I played when I was younger for my niece to play, followed all the directions suggested in the comments, and still can't get it go. I get as far as opening it through Autorun, but as soon as I click 'Install' it just closes the program. PLEASE HELP.

I finally got this to work. I tried a few different programs to run the image file but most didn't work for me. The software that did work was WinCDEmu. I downloaded it here: https://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/download/
1. Download file
3. Download image software (WinCDEmu)
4. Right click on disk image file and select "Select drive letter & mount"
5. Go into the "disk" to see the files
6. Right click on the Setup file and run as administrator
That just worked for me on my PC!

Hmm, doesn't look corrupted to me. I mounted the .img with Daemon Tools, and it worked fine. I copied the files, burned an .iso disk image, and used that in emulation (Windows 98 using VMware). It never ran this smooth when I was a kid.

The screenshots on this page imply that the version is localized for Europe, but the actual game download is the very American edition with the American flag, the American state map, and the American presidents. It is also a re-release.
I love this game a lot. I've played it since I was small and continue to play it today, even though it is a relic from a bygone age when Clinton was still president, Pluto was still a planet, and snail mail was still considered a cool way to communicate to people who lived far away. It taught me how to be an adventurer.
