can someone please upload a DRM free VER

Oh and by god do I heat the head bobble and tilt that happens when u walk in this game, wow I really can wax poetry about this game all-day lol.

Worldofpadman 2026-06-01 0 point

And lastly, I won't be the 1st, nor the last, to ask for a dedicated fps or shooter genre, 'action' is just too broad and useless a category

The game itself is surprisingly stingy on giving any healthpacks, and sadly enemies dont drop any health like they do in say the far worse Stalin subway red veil, so I just stick to the health recharge ability (ignoring the bullet time and shield) and play on easy.

And boy am I thankful that u can change the difficulty anytime, instead of being stuck at the whim of what u chose at the begining, or what the save game file u downloaded from them savegame sites picked

The whole game folder, when installed from johnsaints link, is only 3gb, with the cutscenes folder taking up just 200mb, so I can only assume the version hosted on this site, which noone should bother with, either includes other languages, or that the original not reencoded cutscenes take up a ton a space

worldofpadman 2026-06-01 0 point

Also, I doublechecked my sys32 drivers folder, and thankfully no StarforceDRM crap was added after installing the game from johnsaints gdrive link. Funnily ive already been disabling DSE every boot to play them hypervisor bypass games, so SF drivers wouldnt impact me at all even if they were added

How has noone here and anywhere else, mentioned the insanely long level loading times, its like 40seconds long or something

There was one manual save I did midway into the first level, loading into it from the main menu was fine, but loading it from ingame just crashed to desktop.

Also, this is one of the many games, where pressing fn+f8 or whatever to increase volume or brightness, causes major screen flickering issues when playing on Intel UHD for whatever reason

(due to win11 trying to overlay and display the clickable volume/brightness slider within a game's exclusive fullscreen mode i guess)

thankfully on laptops Nvidia Optimus (where GeForce handles rendering and Intel handles the actual display output) fixes it

Btw the Google drive fullgame download link, provided in the comments of johnsaints YT vid, has the vids all already reencoded to Avi with all the audio removed, but regardless u should just delete the entire cutscenes folder and watch them on YouTube instead

why i can´t copy it on usb-device
it says there is no space but there is!
do i realy have to burn it on dvd?

Guys, you can install it without fear, it works perfectly here. For those who are having problems during cinematics with a black screen, or flickering, try installing the K-lite codec pack.

Follow the tutorial in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGGSQYp8FvY

The video above has everything you need to play the game at 60fps, and of course you can change the resolution, etc... However, I noticed that the screen is stretched in a widescreen resolution, I found a way to fix this.

@RogueUFO posted a link here in the comments with a patch for widescreen resolution, to use it, you need to copy the two files from the folder (depending on which resolution you chose) and when you apply the correction patch that is mentioned in the video I sent to top, which is in the "PSYCHOT_PATCH(2)" folder, you will copy all the files in the folder, except vbase.dll and vision.dll.

And last but not least, don't forget to enable the "override high dpi scaling behavior" option by right-clicking on the .exe in properties and then compatibility. There is no mystery at all, the procedure is very smooth.

And don't forget, DO NOT OPEN THE GAME BEFORE APPLYING THE PATCH. Or you will have unpleasant surprises. Remember, at your own risk.

RIP version PLEASE!!!
This game has some flaws, but it's pretty fun and those "nightmare" levels are amazing!

Philleft 2024-04-28 0 point

The game ain't working for me any solution would be much appreciated.

Anonymous 2024-04-25 1 point

The level designer was certainly overqualified in this game. The only thing that kept me playing was how well done those level maps are.

Rugerman357 2024-04-08 0 point

This game is messy, but also pretty fun!
Standard size is, sadly, gigantic....
Could anyone provide a RIP version, kindly please?

Arka 2023-11-23 0 point

Pretty fun and cheesy game, too bad the cutscenes doesn't work :/
And to had to the top of that, they are not named in the played order AND the video and audio are separated... So I guess open up a video playtrough on the side, and watch the part of the cutscene everytime you reach one...

SirDoge 2023-08-25 0 point

Seems the cutscene's don't work tho.

ROGUEUFO advice actually worked, can't believe I can finally try this game. Thanks Rogue

So can I install the game then update StarforceDRM? Or just download GBW 1.0 and replace files like RogueUFO said? I don't want getting errors on my system.

this is made by the people who made Codename Gordon a hl2-themed platformer

abstriker 2022-09-13 3 points

THIS HAS THE MOST "EVIL PROTECTION IN THE WORLD" ... "STARFORCE". PEOPLE BE CAREFUL BEFORE INSTALLING THIS GAME OR ELSE IT MAY CRASH YOUR WINDOWS.

Bouncer 2021-06-24 4 points

It would be great if there was a rip version of the game without the DRM so I don't screw up my computer.

GoldenWolfe 2021-05-27 10 points

The game itself is a broken MESS, but history behind it is cerntanly intresting!
