How to play Wanted: Weapons of Fate Windows
Install & play guide:
- Before installing the game - download and install Nvidia PhysX Legacy Drivers, even if you have AMD videocard. Also, installers for PhysX included in both repacks
- Mount the .ISO disc image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 102% or Daemon Tools Lite
- As alternative - you can extract files from .ISO image if you have installed WinRAR. Right click on .ISO file -> Extract files. After that just launch the installation with Setup.exe
- Install the game
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't run - open the directory with the game and find wanted.exe. Right click on wanted.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows XP or Vista"
- The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, works fine. The game supports widescreen and ultra-high resolutions up to 4k, also you can play in ultra-wide screen resolution with some config edit, read this guide if you want to play on ultra-wide display
Troubleshooting:
- If the game doesn't work correctly - install Nvidia PhysX Legacy Drivers
- If you have sound glitches during playing - install OpenAL 1.20.1 or higher (if you have already installed OpenAL with lower version - delete it and install OpenAL 1.20.1). Also, OpenAL 1.20.1 adds the support of 3D sound in the game, read about it here
- If the game crashes on starts with error "NxCooking.dll is missing" - download that .dll from this page and put it in the main game directory

I did not have a slow mouse issue. However, Forcing this game into windowed mode using dxwrapper made the mouse so slow that i was unable to play, so anyone with slow mouse movement. Im guessing it means your game isnt entering into fullscreen mode properly. I never thought it was a big deal but apparently Fullscreen mode is like a whole different operating system. The way it works is weird and stupid.
Try turn off any program that wraps around the directX.dll of the game (msi afterburner, discord rich presense, steam community in-game, fraps, reshade) and see if the game launches in proper fullscreen mode
or maybe try launching the game as admin.
on Windows7 i dont think i ever used the word "admin mode" once. Since the release of windows10 administrator issues are now a real problem. Good job bill gates. Is it just me or does windows10/11 STILL feel like windows95 in disguise? Windows has always sucked.So many security updates over the years in windows has hurt gaming a great deal. Thats why youtube will be like "NOW IN FULLSCREEN!" as if its a big deal. Because apparently you need like full security clearance to go into fullscreen mode in windows?? Its becoming such a crude operating system. We may not get viruses anymore but we also cant do run games either. ID rather go back to the viruses.
At this rate we need to cherish these games that work right now, i feel the future of PC gaming will be really really ugly trying to get ancient games to launch

mouse sensitivity makes it virtually unplayable, adjusting does nothing. Way to slow and takes too ong to aim
also the download is RG Mechanics repack, not the ISO as stated

I found this to be a great game, despite the abundance of negative reviews. What initially drew me in was the unique bullet curving mechanic – a refreshing departure from traditional bullet time mechanics.
While the story may be bland, it serves its purpose adequately. The character models, however, are disappointing considering the time of release. Nevertheless, the shooting mechanics and bullet physics are the game's saving grace and provide ridiculously fun gameplay. Although there are some infuriating sections, most boss fights and levels were engaging enough to keep me interested.
Everything, from the downloaded files to the applied fixes, worked seamlessly. Kudos to you guys for a job well done with this one.

I have tried both versions of the game on my Rog Ally and both have the Black screen issue when starting the game, as others have said, I can see the HUD and menus fine, audio works but cannot see anything on screen apart from the HUD
tried numerous so called "fixes" I have found online to no avail :(
really wanted this version of the game too

Definitely broken on AMD hardware. Near entirely black screen when actually playing it. I have an RX 6700xt with Ryzen 5800. Hoping for a fix some day.

I'm in the same boat as Matt here. I've downloaded both repacks, and the same issue is happening across both. The mouselook is extraordinarily slow. It also feels like it's moving the same speed no matter how quickly the mouse is actually moved, like it's somehow using the mouse like an amazingly slow joystick.
I'd love a fix if anybody has one.

Hey, I've downloaded the game it's all here and amazing but the mouse sensitivity seems to be broken. It is INCREDIBLY slow. Like takes seconds to turn 90 degrees. Is there a fix?

I would like to thank you people so much for preserving and uploading this game.
A while ago I tried to reinstall it on W10 (I have it on disc) but unfortunately I never manage to make it work. I could enter it with no issues however a short time after entering a chapter the graphics was totally glitching. Making it sadly unplayable.
This game is certainly not a masterpiece but I played it maybe too much time than it deserved when it launched. It was really a guilty pleasure to me and I finally can dive in again with only but pure nostalgia.
So thanks again.
