There are over 30 historical and speculative scenarios depicting all phases of the battle. The game also allows you to design your own battles: pick your own forces and battle objectives for unlimited play.
The multiplayer mode allows up to eight players over LAN, the Internet, or on GameSpy Arcade. There are over 60 historical uniforms, including French Light Infantry, the Old Guard, the King's German Legion, Polish Lancers, and the Scots Greys. The dozens of historical landmarks include the all-important Chateau Hougoumont, La Haye Sainte, and Plancenoit Church. The game also features an exhaustively researched historical account of Napoleon's return to the throne in 1815, and his ultimate defeat at the battle of Waterloo.

How to play Waterloo: Napoleon's Last Battle Windows
Install & play guide:
- Mount the disc image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 102% or Daemon Tools Lite
- Install the game
- If installation doesn't start - open the mounted disc, right click on setup.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 95/98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP"
- Also it is recommended to install DirectX 8 from the disc
- Install the patch after installing the game
- Open the game directory and find waterloo.exe. Right click on waterloo.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 95/98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP"
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't run - open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del by default) and check for processes waterloo.exe and rundll32.exe. Close waterloo.exe but don't touch rundll32.exe (it's a Windows app for running old apps from 32-bit operational systems, most old games running through rundll32.exe). Now try to launch the game again, it must work. Don't forget to close rundll32.exe process in Task Manager after finishing playing
The game with patch has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit, works with no problem. If you have problems with launch of the game on Windows 7 - disable Game Explorer (read this guide how to do that)
