How to play 3-D Ultra Lionel Train Town Deluxe Windows
Install & play guide:
- Mount the disc image, you will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like Daemon Tools Lite, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 120% or WinCDEmu, etc.
- Install the game
- After that install the patch
- Launch the game and play. If the game doesn't work - open the directory with the game and find TrainDlx.exe. Right click on TrainDlx.exe - Properties - Compatibility - Set "Run this app in compatibility mode with Windows 2000 or Windows XP".
- If the game didn't run after that - open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del by default) and check for processes TrainDlx.exe and rundll32.exe. Close TrainDlx.exe but don't touch rundll32.exe (it's a Windows app for running old apps from 32-bit operational systems, most old games running through rundll32.exe). Now try to launch the game again, it must work. Don't forget to close rundll32.exe process in Task Manager after finishing playing.
The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 10, works with no problem. In order to play that game your display must have support of 800x600 resolution.
The installed game has version 2.0.0.0, NoCD works only for that version. Keep the disc image mounted in virtual drive in order to play the game in version 2.0.1.0

Oh. My. God!!! This is a game straight from my childhood. I remember playing this game so much; my parents had to ask me to stop so I could share the computer with my brother for homework. Now as an adult, I can revisit this and see if I can solve some of the puzzles my child brain couldn't work out!

worked perfectly in windows 11 first try, in windowed mode. when i changed the in-game settings to be fullscreen and tried to relaunch as instructed, however, I had to run the compatibility troubleshooter and it worked perfectly with no more effort than that on my part. yay! thank you!

In case someone wants to play it in fullscreen but it keeps crashing, this is how I got it to work under Windows 10:
enable compatibility mode and set it to Windows XP (I chose SP2 but I am sure it will run under any SP)
enable reduced colors and set it to 16bit
enable "disable fullscreen optimization"
