Although I was never a game designer, Dale Disharoon created this game based on an idea I jokingly suggested one day after work. At the time I worked for him as a programmer. I would write the Apple II and C64 versions of our games, while he would write the Atari version.

Dale was a great boss and game designer. Although the musician is labeled as "unknown", Dale did the music for all the games. Usually he transcribed classical guitar music.

I made a gigantic dragon in this game by making it only one sprite big, and making it not move, so that I could draw the rest as background decorations. I also wanted it to be white, but white sucks when you only get 3 background colors, so I mixed red green and blue to get something that was almost white, and also made good backgrounds.

I had this new for the c64 and played it dozens of times. My wife loved it so much that I would wake up at 3 in the morning to find her having been playing it for several hours! The game was incredibly fun when doing the computer-generated "dungeons," and I spent hours creating my own dungeons for my wife to play. I miss those early days when video games were simpler, yet so unbelievably fun! Adventure Creator is at top of my list of all-time great games for the Commodore.
