Make sure to install update v1.23 because it fixes many errors and bugs, including the critical ones. To install it simply replace TowerSim.exe in game folder
If you the error about msvcr71.dll file - simply download that file from here and put it into game folder, next to TowerSim.exe
There's a critical bug in proppassc172.wav file when the game crashes with ”Runtime Error 3002 - Could not load sound” on some systems. Developers made the fix for that file, but unfortunately, the fixed file is not available for download anymore
