This release was prepared in collaboration with the ETQW Revival community (also known as TAW), most active fan community of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars players. They made their own installer with all fixes and patches, and regularly hosts game servers, you can join them in Discord server by this invitation link.
We uploaded their installers for all versions (Windows, MacOS, Linux), also they host the files on their own file server and allowed us to use their direct links (you can use it if downloading from MyAbandonware is slow for your region/provider), all files are identical to files on our server. Use next links to download files from ETQW Revival file server:
The game has been tested on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11, on 32-bit and 64-bit versions, the game works fine. The game supports widescreen and ultra-widescreen resolutions
Install & play guide (for ISO version):
- Mount the .ISO disc image. You will need the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 102% or Daemon Tools Lite
- As alternative - you can extract files from .ISO image if you have installed WinRAR. Right click on .ISO file -> Extract files. After that just launch the installation with Setup.exe
- Install the game. If the installer will ask for CD key, enter this one:
SSGWPH3HT3DCWP2T 76
- Also it is recommended to install DirectX from the disc (if you're using Windows 10 - enable DirectPlay, read this or this guide how to do it)
- After you installed the game - install the patch

- If the games doesn't work in compatibility mode with Windows XP - try to launch it in compatibility mode with Windows Vista or Windows 7
- It is recommended to install all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for the correct work of the game
- If you plan to play in multiplayer - make sure to install all versions of .NET Framework, especially version 3.5
- Also it is recommended to install RAD Video Tools and K-Lite Codec Pack for the correct work of the game
- The game works on DirectX 9, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Appreciate the link but the download is doing less than 80kb/sec so even a file this small will take over a day to download.

I can't believe this is abandonware. After playing the original free Enemy Territory (2003) I was super excited for this that me and my brother bought it on release (with the trading cards and everything). It was really disappointing that the player base fizzled out so fast, the game never really took off like Battlefield 1942, Desert Combat mod or Battlefield 2. It came out at the wrong time is all. It had really interesting concepts, the turrets, the differing modes, the vehicle asymmetry. The maps got stale however, they didn't seem timeless like those of Enemy Territory (2003).
Though it was nice to see more of the Strogg.

If you have a QHD or 4k monitor and 144Hz,
You have to go in the "tourney" folder and add this in the etqwconfig.cfg
//resolution and aspect ratio
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_mode "-1" // allows you to put custom screen resolution, you can also put number from 1-15 to use in game settings
seta r_aspectRatio "1" // allows custom screen ratio, you can also put number 0-3, 0=4:3, 1=16:9, 2=16:10, 3=5:4
seta r_customWidth "2560" //custom width, 2560
seta r_customHeight "1440" // custom high, 1440
seta com_unlockFPS "1" //unlocks fps over 30fps
seta com_unlock_maxFPS "120" //locks fps to x value, helps if you want to limit frames with vsync off
seta r_displayRefresh "120" //sets refresh rate, 60 is default, if you have 144hz monitor feel free to change it, don't forget to set other settings accordingly
//Custom aspect ratio
seta r_customAspectRatioV "9"
seta r_customAspectRatioH "21"

Great overlooked game, spent a lot of time back in the day playing against bots since everyone was too busy playing Team Fortress 2(me included most of the time) instead of this. Still worth playing today especially if you can find an actual server with people on it.

The Quake series is such a divisive franchise. Every game is different from the last. But it's funny how the games people hate the most (Quake 2,4, and Enemy Territory) are the only ones with any cohesion. Quake 1 and 3 are the ones people rave about the most, but they have nothing to do with the war against the Strogg.

Wtf, you do realise quake has various meaning and it's not entirely associated with Quake game franchise XDDD Idk how unintelligent you have to be to blow out such comment.
