Oh man, I played this game so much I can remember distincly the keys I would type on my tandy to start it. Our tandy didnt have a cmos battery, so the clock woudl reset every time we turned it off, but we had two floppy drives!
Power it up with msdos 3.1 in drive A, then quickly hit ENTER, ENTER CAPS (because we did everything in caps back then) B: ENTER. JANITJOE ENTER
for the countless number of hours I spent playing this game, I never beat it, nor did I Ever find the hidden level. it was infuriating! Those guys with the lasers on the later levels were impossible. I don't know how anyone did it... I did discover that if you mashed up and down at the same time at the top or bottom of a ladder you could float up (or down) like you were climbing an invisible ladder. I used that plenty.

Used to play this in my XT clone in high school. I loved this game!

Peach,
When the game starts, you have to switch the control from Joystick to Keyboard.
Press Cntrl F11 to slow the game down to your desire speed and Cntrl F12 to speed it up.

After you find the secret room, you can press "Escape" to enter the menu screen.
Type JOE1, JOE2, JOE3, JOE4, JOE5, or JOE6 to start the game in that level. JOE6 will give you the ending. There's also a cheat I found when I was a kid that allow you to fly up ladders. If you're on top of the latter, press "Down" then "Up" really fast. It will glitch the game and allow you to fly up the ladder. Same thing if you are below the ladder. If you press "Up" then "Down" really fast, you can fly down the ladder even off screen. If you do this in the secret room, you can climb up to the words and jump around the words! I wish Kevin can read this, this game was so much fun when I was 7 years old.

This looks like my kind of game, but when i used it on DOSBox, the controls would not work and the characters were buggy and useless. Help?

Looks cool, as a self professed 2d platformer junkie, I owe it to myself to try this one out :)
