Description of Judge Dredd Pinball
Judge Dredd Pinball is the first entry in the "Pinball Arcade" series, made by UK-based Pin-Ball Games Limited.
The concept was promising: license a real-life pinball table and try to recreate the gameplay experience as faithfully as possible for home computers. Unfortunately, the execution leaves much to be desired. Anyone familiar with the superb Pro Pinball series will be severely disappointed with this game. Despite having the license to recreate one of William's best pinball tables, Pin-Ball Games decided to create a "completely new and original game" based loosely on the license. The result is a marginally above-average pinball game with so-so physics and repetitive combos. On the upside, the graphics is excellent. There are neat lighting and other special effects, and the table looks very detailed in high resolution SVGA. Worth a look for pinball fans, but without the fun gameplay of Williams' original table to keep it on your hard drive.
Note: Despite lackluster response to this game, Pin-Ball Games went on to release 3 more pinball games in the series: The Avengers, Roswell, and World League Pinball, each based on a real-life pinball table license [thanks to MobyGames info].

I noticed a few issues.
The DOS ISO is not for DOS, it's actually a Windows version.
The DOS RIP version is DOS, but the sound effects will not work until you correct the call directory in the 'go.bat' script. Plus it does not have access to the digital CD music tracks, and will hang if you try to touch the volume slider for that.
The Windows ISO is for Windows, but the disc image also includes an updated DOS version. That DOS version has access to the digital CD music tracks. I like that DOS version much better than the Windows version.
So, if anyone has issues getting the Windows version to run, then checkout the DOS folder on the disc image and give it a whirl with DosBOX.

Get the ISO, install. Get dgVoodoo2, copy dgVoodooCpl.exe, dgVoodoo.conf, D3DImm.dll, and DDraw.dll to your install folder/DREDD. Run dgVoodooCpl.exe and set your config folder. Also I recommend setting Windowed/Centered in the General tab to play it at the correct aspect ratio.
