Sadly, the Steam version is not the same as the original PC port. The original version is close to becoming lost media.

For those having problems with the game crashing just after launching it.
I recommend you to download Platinummatthew's X5 fix that is currently available on the game's PCGamingWiki page.
To install it, just extract the rar/zip in the game's main folder.

Why are Mega Man X3, X4, and X5 classified as abandonware, even though those games were also part of both Mega Man X Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection?
