Description of Menzoberranzan
Menzoberranzan (aka メンゾベランザン 闇の紋章) is a video game published in 1994 on DOS by Strategic Simulations, Inc.. It's a role-playing (rpg) game, set in a fantasy, real-time, licensed title and d&d / ad&d themes.
Thanks to Dimitrios, this is now the very nice CD version of the game.

I had an original copy of this game from part of a forgotten realms/dnd collection. I couldn't get it to work then, I assume it needed fairly specific hardware/software setup to run and basic DOSbox might not cut it. Which is unfortunate, because I was always interested in the lore after reading the books.

It's an old DOS game. You need an emulator, such as DOSBox, to run it. Follow the instructions in the DOSBox documentation.

the jump potions disappear when one clicks there there is no way to get the gems.

Is there any reason in particular why you made this game so difficult to extract and play rather than just using the normal methods such as ISO, mounting and extracting like everyone else.

The .rar file contains some .ccd .cue and .img.ecm files, how do you open these, Daemons Tools Ultra couldn't load it.
