Description of Silent Service
Silent Service (aka Das U-Boot) is a video game published in 1985 on DOS by MicroProse Software, Inc.. It's a simulation game, set in a historical battle (specific/exact), naval, real-time, submarine, world war ii and vehicular combat simulator themes, and was also released on NES, Commodore 64, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, Apple II and Apple IIgs.

I still play it on a 386 I have discovered all the tricks to win against the nasty enemy, have gone all the way to the end without doing a 'save' and backing up when killed, but never got to the point of doing my own angel calculations

Love ss! I had it for atari st, dos, and much later for nes. I always liked the ST version best.

I played SILENT SERVICE on an Apple 2 for years. I've got a Kindle HGX now. It's got the old Apple beat in so many ways. I would like to see the game made compatible so I could play it again.

I'm the guy there on the periscope! In my pocket I have had a transparent plastic sheet with an diagram painted on to measure the angle on the bow for the TDC on the TV-screen.
