The game has been tested on Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, works with no problem. To install the game use the utility for mounting disc image files, like WinCDEmu, UltraISO, Alcohol 52%/Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools Lite or other

Notes:

• If the game doesn't work - launch it in compatibility mode with Windows 95 or Windows 98/Me and as administrator
• The ISO image must be mounted in virtual drive in order to play the game
• It is recommended to install DirectX from the disc
• The game works on DirectX 6, so if you're using Windows 8, 8.1, 10 or 11 - you probably will need to enable DirectPlay: Go to Control Panel, and select 'Programs'. Select 'Turn Windows features on and off', click on 'Legacy Components' and check the box 'DirectPlay'. Select OK, once the installation is done, restart your computer
• If you have troubles with running the game - try to run it through dgVoodoo utility (here's the guide how to use it with DirectX 1-7 games)
• If you want to play without the disc, do the next steps:
  • Create "Data" folder inside the game directory, copy the file CD.CFS from the disc to that newly created "Data" folder
  • Then, open "Setup" folder inside the disc and copy two files setchaos.exe and set.bin to the directory with the installed game (where the exe-files are located)
  • Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/DreamWorks Interactive/SmallSoldiers. Edit "Data Drive" line and specify the path to the installed game in it (for example: C:/Games/SSoldier)
  • Restart your PC and play the game
