The only thing stopping me from playing this game is the inability to edit the control.cfg on the mdf. disk image.
If anyone has any ideas, please post them.

All is working good and I was very surprised to hear that music again after so many years. However there is one major problem, all Directional pads and sticks on my Xbox controller for windows have no effect in game, the buttons work but I don't have a D-pad, please help somebody! So near yet so far. :'-/

Thank you so much, My memories of this game are that it was the most satisfying football game I ever played. I hope I can get it working.
"playable with some tinkering" can you please specify what tinkering is most necessary? I have Win7. Do I need to change the Installer? Please help. :-/
